We Are the Wild Things

Our holiday club offers child‑led, nature‑based play in the woods. Children explore, create, build, cook over the fire, and enjoy the freedom of being outdoors in all seasons. Every day is different, and children are encouraged to follow their own interests.

We start the morning by preparing and cooking a simple vegetarian lunch together. Children then have time to explore the woodland, take part in activities, build dens, use tools with supervision, and enjoy seasonal crafts. We finish the day gathered around the fire with warm popcorn and we chat about the day we've had.

Please dress your child for the weather and for getting muddy. Waterproofs, warm layers, sturdy boots or wellies, and sun protection in summer are all recommended. We spend the whole day outdoors, so comfort is important.

Yes. We run in most weather, including rain and cold. However, we will adjust our activities accordingly and we do have have sheltered areas on sight. We only cancel if conditions are unsafe, such as high winds or storms. If we need to cancel, we’ll contact you as soon as possible and offer a refund or transfer.

We cook a simple vegetarian lunch together each day. Please let us know about any allergies or dietary needs when booking. Children should bring a filled water bottle and any extra snacks they may need. Children can also help themselves to refreshments and fresh fruit all through the day.

We welcome all children and will make reasonable adjustments wherever possible. Please share any medical, behavioural, or additional needs during booking so we can plan appropriate support. If the woodland environment may not be safe or suitable, we’ll discuss this with you sensitively.

Yes. All sessions are led by trained Forest School practitioners with enhanced DBS checks, outdoor first aid training, safeguarding training, and experience working with children in nature‑based settings.

1:6. We keep our groups small to ensure safety and high‑quality support. Ratios vary slightly by activity, but we always meet or exceed recommended Forest School guidelines of 1:8.

A filled water bottle, any medication they need (such as inhalers or EpiPens), extra snacks if desired, and a spare set of clothes in a labelled bag. Please leave toys and electronics at home.

Drop off and collection happen at the main school gates but full details are included in your booking confirmation email. Please arrive on time for both drop‑off and pick‑up. If you’re delayed, just let us know.

Our refund policy is available on our website. In summary: cancellations made 7 or more days before the session are fully refundable; cancellations within 7 days are non‑refundable. If we cancel due to weather or staff illness, you’ll receive a refund or transfer option.

We do take photos for our website and social media though we will only use images of your child if you have given consent during booking. You can change your consent at any time.
